Back as rapporteur: follow-through at the laboratory working group's Q3 meeting
Seven months ago, I wrote about turning a two-day inaugural meeting into minutes, resolutions and a tracking sheet.
Last week, the Ogun State Laboratory Technical Working Group held its Q3 meeting, and I was back as rapporteur.
This time the work was less about setting up and more about follow-through:
• Recording and transcribing the sessions
• Drafting the Day 2 report and compiling the merged report covering both days
• Documenting the meeting in photos
• Preparing the Q3 presentation
The meeting itself moved from discussion to structure. Members reviewed the reporting templates partners will use every quarter, and each sub-committee narrowed long activity lists down to two priorities. By the end, the group had agreed four priority areas and adopted resolutions to carry into Q4.
What I've learned since the inaugural meeting: a working group's real output isn't the meeting. It's the record that lets everyone pick up exactly where they stopped three months later.
Good documentation is how momentum survives between meetings.
If you support committees or working groups, what keeps your follow-through on track between meetings?
